What is Pokémon Production?

We share our approach to production, which defines the Pokémon brand.

What’s Pokémon?

Pokémon are fascinating creatures harboring a myriad of mysteries. Pokémon began with the Pokémon Red Version and Pokémon Green Version video games launched in Japan in 1996 for the Game Boy platform. Among the factors that have contributed to Pokémon’s success are the sheer enjoyment of capturing and raising Pokémon as a collection, and the opportunities Pokémon creates for communication through trading with other players or competing against them. Today, thanks to its amazing expansion into the realms of trading card games, TV anime, film, apps, merch and so much more, Pokémon is a name known and loved all around the world.

Pokémon in Action

Pokémon are making the most of their unique characteristics to thrive across various fields. Here, we introduce some of the most representative examples of their success.

  • Miraidon

A legendary Pokémon with five different modes, including Low-Power Mode; a quadrupedal mode, and Drive Mode; a motorcycle-like mode. In collaboration with TOYOTA Engineering Society, we have created the future mobility model in the image of Miraidon.

  • Ditto

A Transform Pokémon being able to become anything. In partnership with LOTTE, the “Pokémon Town” held in South Korea approximately 100 Dittos have gathered and delivered its charm by transforming into various Pokémon.

  • Cinderace

A Striker Pokémon with high physical ability, controlling the burning soccer ball. For the first “Pokémon Kids Sports Project”, we have assigned Cinderace and supported all young soccer players throughout the country.

  • Poltchageist

A Matcha Pokémon that lives inside a tea caddy. At “Cafe Poltchageist”, the Japanese-modern style cafe, it has played an active role as a helpful assistant. The lineup also features merchandise inspired by tea utensils and a cafe menu filled with matcha-flavored treats.
