At The Pokémon Company, we have been collaborating with the local governments to create "Pokémon Parks" - Pokémon-themed playgrounds - in locations accross Japan. Our foremost aim was to give children attractive places to play outdoors, and the first thing that came to mind was a park setting.

Jamsil, Seoul Was Transformed into “Pokémon Town” in Collaboration with LOTTE

Nearly the entire Jamsil area was transformed for the Pokémon Town. Visitors were treated to greetings by various Pokémon, and they could also try their hand playing a variety of Pokémon games. This event came about as an indirect result of the “Pokémon World Championships” held in Yokohama, Japan in 2023.

An Illustrated Guide to Pokémon Ecology – Pokécology was published in Japan by Shogakukan. Currently available only in a Japanese language version, the guide was planned by Yoshinari Yonehara, an expert in animal behavior and ecology who holds a PhD from the University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences. What initially piqued Yohenehara's interest are the realistic characteristics of each Pokémon.

Building Strong Connections with Viewers in Taiwan through Localized Anime and a Locally Created Theme Song

As the Pokémon anime series are seen globally, and The Pokémon Company plays a role in localization to deliver these animations to Asian viewer. Sometimes expressions commonly used in Japan, in Japanese, are difficult to convey in other languages. This article unravels the localization process.
